Back from Laughlin.

Well we got back from the Laughlin River Run about 2:00 pm today and man am I tired.
I like the ride there, especially when the weather is favorable like it was this year. Well favorable for everyone but my pal Gil, the guy on the right in the picture below in happier times with Paul Cox of Indian Larry Heritage Cycles. Seems Gil has an in law that has a pad in Bullhead City, AZ where I thought Gil and his Mrs. Gil were going to stay. Bro in law told Gil he wanted to leave early Thursday morning, early like 5:30 am. Now you have to understand Gil's wife is riding in the in laws car because her back won't take the ride to Laughlin, so the plan was for Gil to ride his Harley following the car and then she would ride the last 50 -60 miles with him into Laughlin.

Wait Sopranos started, I'll be back in a second.
Man what an episode!

Ok, so here is Gil 5:30 am last Thursday riding his Harley thru Chino following bro in law on the way to Laughlin. Then it starts to rain. I guess he rode 10 miles in the rain when bro in law pulled over and told a soaking wet Gil that he has a friend that lives near by and that Gil could probably leave his sled there, change into dry clothes and ride in the car with them. So he did.
Obviously bro in law was no biker. They could have holed up somewhere like a coffee house, Dennys, or where ever before Gil got totally soaked and until the rain stopped, but nooooooooo.
Anyhow I bumped into Gil Saturday behind the Flamingo and he told me this tale of woe. In true biker speak I said "bummer dude, lets drink a beer". So we did. Lucky for me too because we sat at the video poker bar and after a few minutes I won $250. I think Gil lost $40. Bummer dude.

Well Lynnette and I got to town with out getting caught in the rain, (next time maybe Gil will listen to me), and had a great weekend. We spent a lot of time people watching which at these events is a must!
Laughlin like any of your large biker runs has so many great people watching opportunities. Guys and gals of all shapes and sizes. Heavily tattooed people, people walking around with snakes, toothless people, some of the scariest looking guys and gals you will ever see, as well as being some of the nicest people you will ever meet. There are beautiful scantily clad young women, oh yah , and scantily clad 40 year old + women too. Most of the 40+ women really have no business dressing like that and in fact would have done a great public service by covering it all up, or by returning to the buffet of their choice to continue their grazing rituals. Egad!

Well always leave them wanting more so I'll pick up on this subject at another time.

Leo told me he mentioned to a friend of ours, Mike Devris, that I am blogging now. He said Mike was interested in reading the blog, but I don't know if I am ready for that. I mean Mike is really smart and I hold him in high esteem and if he reads this he will really know how much it was God that helped my kids and how little my influence was. He probably already knew that though.
Hey Mike, did you know there is a guy that does tattoo work and has the same name as you? http://www.mdtattoos.com/main.html . Check it out. For those of you that don't know Mike he is pastor at a small church in South Orange County called South County United http://www.scunited.org/ . If you get a chance to worship with them do. Services are Sundays @ 5:00 pm.

Oh yes, people before I forget, PLEASE GO TO WORK ON MONDAY. Don't forget the difference between legal and illegal immigration. Also join me in my boycott of mexican food and Cinco de Mayo. I better stop now as I feel a rant will come on if I don't.

Before I go I have to share with you the story of Ron Patrick, a man not satisfied with the powerplant supplied by Volkswagen in the new VW Bug so he took matters into his own hands, by installing a jet engine in his bug. http://www.sfgate.com/cgi-bin/article.cgi?file=/c/a/2006/04/30/MNGJGII7BB1.DTL&type=cars .
Guess he wanted to make a bug fly.... Get it? A bug fly..... Oh never mind.

That's all for now. Hope it made sense to you, "cause right now it makes sense to me.

Life imitates art & other subjects

Did ya see the story in the news about the students from Reno, NV. that took a field trip to Six Flags Marineland in Vallejo CA, only to find it closed when they got there? Kinda makes you wonder if Clark Griswold from the movie National Lampoons Vacation was the trip coordinator. http://www.philly.com/mld/philly/news/weird_news/14432222.htm .

what's so great about watching guys play poker on TV?

Going to Laughlin tomorrow for the anuall"River Run". Really hoping for dry weather in the morning. Lynnette and I will be leaving between eight and nine in the morning and should make the Flamingo about 3 pm. After tonight I won't blog until next week.

I wonder when people will get tired of paying so much at the pump. I remember in the 70's it didn't take long before people were jettosoning their big crappy mileage rigs if favor of more efficient Jap rigs. Kind of like what I did last February.

That's all for now. Hope it made sense 'cause it makes sense to me right now.

Frustrated.

Man I was thinking of all kinds of stuff to wright about while I was at work and now I can't remember any of it. When I ride the mowers at work I have lots of time to think or even meditate, (with my eyes open of course),. I wish I had a quarter for all the times a good idea, or some thought goes forgotten, man I'd be rich. But I'd probably forget where I put all the quarters.

From the bad cop, no doughnut file. A cop in Massachutets had his weapon discharge in the station. To add insult to injury it was his seven year old son that fired the weapon in the station roof. http://www.thebostonchannel.com/news/8984482/detail.html .
Hope he isn't doing a gun safety class any time soon.

Thanks to my brother Nelson who let me know sence is actually spelled
sense.

Sorry for saying that was Sopheia Loren on Sopranos this weekend, It was Loren Bacall. I stand corrected.

Thats all for now. Hope it made sense to you 'cause right now it makes sence to me

Undeserving of a title

President George Bush was in the area today and made a speech about the usual subjects Iraq and immigration. Every time this guy opens his mouth I get so $&*@(!? mad I can't believe it. If I hear him talk about "immigrants taking jobs americans won't do" again I'll absolutely loose my mind. What jobs is he talking about? Painting? roofing? plumbing? gardening? Are these the "jobs americans won't do"? Seems like I used to know plenty of middleclass guys that used to do those jobs, and now all the sudden they won't do it? Or maybe they can't do it because they are being under bid by people that aren't supposed to be here. The only job I can think of that americans refuse to do on a regular basis is picking crops. The last time I checked we don't need 20 million lettuce pickers.
There is a fence around the White House for a reason. To keep out those that don't belong inside and might impose a threat. Don't our borders deserve the same protection?

I found out yesterday a friend of my son Leo joined the army a few months ago. I admire this young man for his bravery in joining up when we are in the midst of what is becoming an unpopular battle. May God watch over Sven and protect him as he serves U.S. .

Many of you may know I am boycotting all things mexican. No mexican food, beer, tequila, tortillas, whatever. Now I am calling on all americans to not celebrate Cinco de Mayo. Why celebrate a holiday celebrating something even mexicans don't understand. Don't believe me? Just ask one.

Read about an elderly woman that won multi millions on a nickel slot in Atlantic City. Dude I am definitely taking my mom to Laughlin more often!

Nelson you should consider blogging. The only problem is bringing your computer into the saloon.

The worlds record for largest pillow fight was shattered by the other day in NewZeland the other day with 3695 people pillow fighting. The previous record was 3684 people.

I don't feel too smart a lot of the time. I wonder why.

Sopranos was hot last night. What other show would have a thug nock down and rob a foul mouthed Sophia Loren?

Thats all for now. Hope it made sence to you, 'cause right now it makes sence to me.

I like Sunday

I like Sunday. It's a time to slow down, praise the Lord, and just do as you feel led. At church today the teaching pastor Mike basically did question and answer. What a concept answer a few of the questions of the faithful. Man I love it.

Speaking of love it I miss Ren & Stimpy.

Remember yesterday I was talking about installing a toilet. Finally got it done. In the mean time I found a couple of great toilet info sites, http://www.toiletology.com/howitwrk.shtml#DWV and, http://home.howstuffworks.com/toilet1.htm , are just chocked so full of toilet info I can't imagine what toilet questions wouldn't be answered there.

Last night my wife and youngest son went to a tattoo show in Anaheim, CA. . I love tattoo shows, (excpt that the ticket cost is usually way too high),. All kinds of great art and all kinds of great people watching. I really wonder where they all go when the show is over.

Laughlin River Run is next weekend, talk about great people watching. Too much of a great thing. OH YEAH.

Thats it for now. Hope it made sence to you 'cause right now it makes sence to me.

OK I am finally gonna start rambling.

Its been nearly a yeat since I thought this blog would be a good idea sooooooooo I think I'll do somthing with it.

I try not to break the law. The law of God or the law of man. When I break the law of man I know I am risking some form of punishment, fine jail, community service, whatever. So how come our lawmakers are bowing down to a group of law breakers, law breakers that are FLAUNTING the fact that they are breaking the law? I don't get it used to be there was right and wrong, but no more. Just goes to show you if you ignore a problem long enough it's sure to come up and bight you right where you sit.

I like Harley Davidson and thats what I ride-enough said.

Ever notice that alot of working people who bitch about not having enough money or enough time off are those that spend every thing they make, with out saving anything for the future. They have to work more and more to support the spending and the work finally swallows up their whole life. Slow down people.

The Boeing company is finally realizing one of their goals post merging with McDonnell Douglas. Most of what was a GIANT aircraft manufacturing plant has been torn down, and soon the rest may see the wrecking ball. That sucks. Best job I ever had was at Douglas. I miss the place and the people that were my friends there.

Speaking of work I just want to know what the rest of america does 5 to 10 minutes before the end of their shifts. How productive are you? Are you expected to work right up to the last minute? Please let me know.

Ever try to install a replacement toilet? You know put in a new one for one that doesn't have the flush power it once had. Seems so easy, but in reality takes too much time.

Thats it for now. Hope it makes sence to you 'cause right now it makes sence to me.
